Lucy Stephenson 🇬🇧 I had a brilliant cycle tour of Penang with Princilia - we went around the south west of the island, and we didn’t just do cycling but princilia also explained local nature, architecture and culture. The bikes were good quality and the company feels really professional and focused on safety and quality - they took our bags in their vehicle so we didn’t have to cycle with them (but carried our suncream so we had easy access) and gave us as much water as we could need. G l e n 🇦🇺 A Memorable & Unique experience Having made a point of doing bike tours in most cities we have visited, Mumbai, Quebec, Chile, it was inevitable that our visit to Malaysia should include a bike tour. After much research we decided on a bike tour in Penang offered by Matahari, the tour we chose was tour 1.1 which is an extension of the half day tour they offer. For us the tour really started right from our pick up from the hotel in Georgetown, the drive from the busy city through the suburbs and finally to the start point in the countryside was very pleasant and interesting. From the start we found ourselves pedaling through the country side along a river and farms reaching a quaint little town for our coffee stop in a truly authentic old school cafe. From here it was a ride through palm oil plantations and onwards through rice paddy fields to a really beautiful lunch stop in the middle of a rice paddy fields. While the lunch provided was great, what really made this experience memorable was the setting, truly unique. After lunch the ride continued on through the countryside past farms and a fish farm finally finishing up on the coast. I must make mention of our charming and very knowledgeable guide, Princilia and SJ, our back up support. Princilia knowledge on local fauna and flora was remarkable pointing out various wildlife and vegetation along the way, her rapport with the local was genuine, she seemed to know everyone, the locals themselves were always smiling, waving out or just wanted to come up and have a chat. This made for a truly immersive experience. I can highly recommend this tour, it takes you away from the busy touristy areas of Penang and shows you a very different beautiful side of Penang, I would label this a MUST do! #beautifuldestinations #trails #adventure #destinationearth #landscape #environment #cycling #awardwinning #mataharixperience #explore #princiliarocks #places #community #scenic #wanderlust #nationaltreasure #supportsmallbusiness

The team provided lots of information on Penang countryside and the local community. We had a nice lunch with local delicacies and seen plenty of wildlife. Everything was well organised and the bikes were decent quality. Would highly recommend if looking to get out of the busy city. Antoine L 🇫🇷 Exceptional Bike Tour with Passionate Guides We had an amazing time with the team. Their passion for what they do and their eagerness to share their knowledge about the region were evident throughout. The tour was exceptionally well-organized from the beginning. They provided each participant with a helmet and a bike, personalized with our names to ensure we kept the same ones at each stop, and included a bottle of water on each bike. After a delightful first stop at a local spot where we enjoyed coffee or tea, Princilia continued to share insights about local religions and lifestyles. The final stop in the middle of the paddy fields was truly wonderful. The team prepared some local dishes, Laksa and Char Koay Teow, which were absolutely delicious.
