We had the most incredible cycling experience with Princiliarocks and SJay. Educational (and tailored), incredible landscapes, great riding and great quality bikes and helmets and a few suprises along the way. We love riding when we travel and this did not disappoint. We will definitely return for a longer ride with Matahari on our next trip to Malaysia and recommend them to all our friends visiting Penang!

We had an amazing experience on this cycling tour. We joined as a family of four (with a 9-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son) for the 4-hour ride, and it was absolutely worth it. Along the way, we enjoyed lots of cultural explanations, tried local food, and saw beautiful scenery that we would never have found on our own. The tour ended at a wonderful spot where we had a delicious laksa, and our kids were very happy too. Highly recommended for families as well as anyone who wants a fun and meaningful local experience. An excellent day out on the bikes cycling in villages, palm plantations and rice paddies, finishing at the beach. My teenage sons thoroughly enjoyed it. The communication before the tour was very smooth and everything was very well organised, we felt that we were always looked after. I find that I learnt a lot about living in the countryside and I also enjoyed the stop at the palm oil plantation, which was very informative. Also thanks to SJ for the book recommendation, it’s already in the post! I recommend the tour to everyone but especially to families with active teenagers!

The best day of 2025! I thoroughly enjoyed my half day cycle tour with Princilia and SJ – actually it was more than just half a day. Princilia and team went the extra mile in ensuring safely combined with a cultural, heritage and nature experience of the Island. Each stop along the way boasted something delicious to eat, something new to learn and something beautiful to admire! I was extra impressed to have actually got in some good cycling too. We did The Classic cycle tour with Matahari Cycle Tours and we really enjoyed it. Princilia was very informative as we biked by various plants, trees, villages, etc. Our bikes were very good, we always had lots of water and were reminded to put on our sunscreen. SJ was always there waiting for us at the designated stops. We enjoyed all the different food and drinks we were able to try. The path itself was great, just the right combination of road and trail. I loved the hills (JK) but they weren’t too bad. Just the right size group and we would do it again. We loved the ice cream at the end.

We did the half day countryside tour with Matahari cycle tour group which was absolutely gorgeous. We completed around 19km of cycling around the countryside on the West coast of Penang. The staff were absolutely amazing and so informative when we reached the hamlet village. We had coffee and local delicacies in the village and it was so delicious and a perfect break for the cycling tour. We did the tour on a very hot day but had lots of stops and a great break halfway. It was amazing to see the countryside in such depth. Huge thank you to SJ and Princilia!!

Great half day cycle tour with Matahari Cycle. SJ and Principia were excellent hosts and were extremely knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and history. Bikes were excellent quality and pre-fitted. Excellent for those seeking a relaxed rural bike ride. Highly recommend.
