Ol Kakis Fellowship Ride

The event Detail

#authenticsplendour

This is clearly to say that the objective of our Member of Parliament, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Muhammad Bakhtiar bin Hj. Wan Chik for this yearly endurance cycling event is to affiliate fellowship among participants and present the tourism industry’s uncharted circle. In hand and as part of our work initiatives, we focus our effort on communal and environmental issues and showcase local products, the local community, NGOs, and bring together established businesses, agencies, and the local government.

Each year the route for this cycling event that covers ¾ of the island to exclude Georgetown is carefully crafted to showcase the better side of our island. Matahari Cycle has shared a strong relationship with sustainable tourism for many years. Participants in this event have a chance to absorb the view of less familiar sites of Penang as they ride across covering places such as Teluk Bahang, Sungai Rusa, Bukit Kukus, Teluk Kumbar, Ginting, and Bayan Baru.

The turnaround point in Bayan Baru, where the main water and feeding station are sponsored by the MP of Bayan Baru Service Centre (YB Sim Tze Tzin) located under the 2nd Penang Bridge, where participants can zest in the atmosphere by the shores while having a short break.

At the epicenter are the prestigious Angsana Teluk Bahang Resort, the start and finish venue where a carnival-like atmosphere awaits you and your family. Participants and their families from various states, including countries like Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Australia, are exposed to elements that present the composition of sustainability and tourism, such as our local products, services, food, and delicacies.

Among other notable partners are the local city council “Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang” (MBPP), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Tourism Malaysia, Penang Global Tourism, Penang Hidden Gem, and MTT Properties and Development (Botanica. CT).

Special mention and appreciation go to our Councillors, Mr. Edward Tan and Madam Rodziah Abul Khassim.
